My name is Joshua Pocius. I prefer to be referred to as “Joshua,” and to pronounce my surname, say POR-tsee-yuhs.

My surname is Lithuanian 🇱🇹, and the “c” is a “ts” sound, not a “k” or “ch” sound.

Fun fact: if I was an unmarried woman my surname would be Pociūtė.

Another fun fact: “Joshua” isn’t really used as a first name in Lithuania, so when I was born my grandfather just told our relatives in the homeland that my name was Juozapas (Joseph).
